Dr. Lauren Zummo DACM LAc

Lauren Zummo grew up with a strong connection to nature and a deep curiosity about the human body, its physiology and the connection of movement and healing. She dedicated her life to teaching & educating people to find balance and healing through movement and the power of Chinese Medicine. In college she studied Sports Medicine and Exercise Science at Catawba College, then went on to receive her first Master's degree in Exercise Physiology from Adelphi University where she was also a Graduate Assistant.  She built a powerful highly successful Personal Training business while also continuing her education to gain in-depth understanding of movement and fascial connections. This led her to complete her comprehensive certification in Polestar Pilates as well as her 200hr certification in Yoga.  Amazed by the ability of the human body to heal itself through individualized tailored movements tailored and a positive outlook, Lauren sought even deeper ways to help clients achieve their goals.  A profound healing Acupuncture treatment she received during her third pregnancy blossomed into her powerful love of Traditional Chinese Medicine.  Lauren received her second Master's degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from New York College of Health Professions and her Doctorate at Pacific College for Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine.

Lauren's patients often come seeking her success rate, years of education,  expertise diagnosing root causes of their conditions and positive energy, making her a highly effective practitioner with a profound knowledge of the body and its energies. Patients come to her for a wide variety of issues such as orthopedic conditions, chronic pain, stress, fertility, orthopedic, addiction, weight loss, headaches, anxiety, depression, and various other health issues. Treating patients is not a job to Lauren it's a way of life.  She finds tremendous joy in helping people feel fantastic and live their best lives. Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine

Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine

Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine is a traditional Chinese method used to treat many health conditions and conditions. Acupuncture is an ancient Eastern Medicine therapy that involves the use of sterile needles to stimulate key areas of the body to help alleviate pain and mobility problems and achieve optimal health outcomes.

While its popularity has only recently been increasing in the West, acupuncture is an integral part of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), a medical system that goes back thousands of years. Yet its full potential is still untapped, as it’s becoming one of the fastest-growing fields in integrative health. Integrative, whole-person health addresses the full range of a patient’s physical, emotional, spiritual, and environmental influences, focusing on therapies that extend beyond the surgeries and drugs that have historically defined Western medicine.

Cupping

Cupping

Cupping is an ancient healing therapy that some people use to ease pain. A provider places cups on your back, stomach, arms, legs or other parts of your body. Inside the cup, a vacuum or suction force pulls skin upward. Cupping is a form of traditional Chinese and Middle Eastern medicine. People have practiced cupping therapy for thousands of years.

Suction from cupping draws fluid into the treated area. This suction force expands and breaks open tiny blood vessels (capillaries) under the skin. Your body treats the cupping area like an injury. It sends more blood to the area to stimulate the natural healing process. Cupping clears the pores and releases toxins.
